‘Branding’ is something that is often spoken of but isn’t always clearly defined. The first thing that may come to mind when thinking of a brand is a logo. Coca-Cola. Apple. Disney. You can probably picture their logos, but you may also associate experiences with that company.
A business is always communicating something visually with their brand. Your brand is the complete image of your business. Entrepreneur.com says it perfectly:
“Your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from that of your competitors. Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be.”
That last sentence is important.
When I started creating the brand for Red Clay Creative, I asked myself, “why does a small business need great branding and design?” A small business needs great branding so that they don’t miss an opportunity for new customers. Every customer matters. The marketing, website, and branding that a business creates can build trust, or doubt.
Have you ever passed on a restaurant that didn’t look legitimate? Then a friend tells you that same place is the best hole in the wall and your perception changes. When you create great branding, you take control of that narrative.
“Branding is the art of aligning what you want people to think about your company with what people actually do think about your company.” – Jay Bauer
I started this company because I love being creative and I know I can deliver top-notch service for my clients. I strive to show that in my marketing, on my website and in every interaction with my clients. I hope that comes across in this brand.
