SEO Report – Modern Hearth (2026-07)
August 14, 2026 by Red Clay Creative
Modern Hearth saw softer organic performance in July, with 334 clicks from 61,579 impressions. Impressions declined 4.47%, but clicks fell 11% as CTR slipped to 0.54% and average position moved back to 27.5, showing that ranking and click-through efficiency both contributed to the decline.
Key Metrics
- Impressions: 61,579, down 4.47%
- Clicks: 334, down 11%
- CTR: 0.54%, down 6.90%
- Average position: 27.5, down 5.59%
- AI search visibility: 0% across the tracked prompts
What it means
The biggest opportunity is not simply generating more impressions. Modern Hearth already has several commercially relevant product searches sitting just outside page one, where they can generate visibility without producing many clicks. “Fireplace rugs” ranks around #14, “fireplace rug” around #15, “high temperature paint” around #17, and “cast iron fireplace grate” around #19.
Those are meaningful opportunities because the tracked search volumes range from roughly 2,400 to 4,400 searches per month. Moving even a few of these terms from page two into the top 10 should improve clicks without requiring a major increase in overall search demand.
Keyword patterns
The strongest tracked keyword is “creosote brush”, which is ranking around #2. That shows Modern Hearth can compete near the top of search results for specific fireplace and chimney product terms.
The second layer is more important for growth. “Fireplace rugs” (#14), “fireplace rug” (#15), “high temperature paint” (#17), and “cast iron fireplace grate” (#19) are all within striking distance of page one. “Stainless steel chimney liner” is further back around #24, but its estimated 5,400 monthly searches make it another category worth strengthening over time.
Brand-related searches are producing visibility, but the larger upside is clearly in non-branded product searches. July’s lower CTR also reinforces the need to improve rankings for these high-impression terms rather than relying on visibility alone.
What we recommend
- Prioritize the fireplace rug category around “fireplace rugs” and “fireplace rug.” Both are already around positions 14–15 and have roughly 2,400 monthly searches.
- Strengthen the pages targeting “high temperature paint” and “cast iron fireplace grate.” At positions 17 and 19, modest ranking gains could move both into page one.
- Build on the success of “creosote brush.” Use the ranking page and its surrounding content structure as a model for related chimney-cleaning and maintenance terms.
- Improve search snippets for high-impression pages. CTR fell to 0.54% in July, so titles and meta descriptions should be reviewed alongside ranking improvements.
How we’ll measure improvement
The next gains should come from converting existing visibility into more traffic. The clearest signal will be page-two product keywords moving into the top 10 and producing click growth faster than impression growth.
- “Fireplace rugs” and “fireplace rug” moving from positions 14–15 into page one
- “High temperature paint” and “cast iron fireplace grate” moving closer to the top 10
- CTR recovering from 0.54% as rankings and search snippets improve
- Organic clicks increasing without requiring a proportional increase in impressions
