Google Ads Report – Happy Paws (2026-08)
September 17, 2026 by Red Clay Creative
The Basics
August brought nearly the same amount of ad traffic as July, but fewer conversions. Your campaigns recorded 42.02 conversions from $1,400.25 in spend, with the average cost per conversion rising to $33.32. The main opportunity is to get more from the traffic your budget is already bringing in.
Key Metrics
- Impressions: 5,138, down 2.10%
- Clicks: 348, down 1.42%
- Conversions: 42.02, down 18%
- Conversion rate: 12.08%, down 16%
- Cost per conversion: $33.32, up 22%
- Total spend: $1,400.25, up 0.40%
The Highlights
The conversion rate drove most of the decline. Clicks and spend barely changed, while the share of clicks resulting in a conversion fell 16%. The average cost per click was about $4.02, only around 2% higher than July. That points to conversion performance as the bigger reason your cost per conversion increased. From a deeper dive into the data, it looks like the biggest decrease comes from “dog boarding”, so we should assess if there are any improvements that we can make to that user journey.
Happy Paws DC converted a larger share of its traffic. It generated roughly twice as many clicks as Puptagon DC and about three times as many conversions. That doesn’t mean the Puptagon campaign is performing poorly per se; it just means that more people are engaging with services like dog daycare and dog boarding more than dog training.
What We Recommend
- Review user journeys for specific service lines, starting with “dog boarding” and “dog training” to identify opportunities to improve conversions.
- Review performance by service before adjusting your budget. “Dog boarding washington dc” brought in 52 clicks, while the two listed training keywords brought in 53 combined. We recommend comparing their conversion costs and the inquiries they generated, then checking whether each ad takes visitors to a page that clearly explains the service they searched for and how to get started.
Looking ahead to next month, we’ll focus on where conversions fell and which services are bringing in the most useful inquiries. That should give us a clearer basis for improving results within your current budget.
